Trains at Manchester
There are several train stations in Manchester. Picadilly (which has just
been refurbished), Victoria, Oxford Road, and Deansgate.
If you want to see lots of trains we recommend you visit Picadilly and make
your way to Platform 13/14. There are benches at the far end of the station,
and most of the time that end of the platform is relatively quiet.
There is now a Sainsburys in the main area of the station to get drinks
and snacks from, and a WH Smiths for plenty of magazines.
Depending on how keen on trains you are (or your child is, if you're taking
a child) then expect to spend hours at the station watching the trains.
